Certified Nurses Assistant Classes

The CTI CNA training is an intense, comprehensive and high quality program. The results-oriented class sessions will cover key Nursing Skills & Abilities to assist the trainee in understanding the professional and caring performance requirements of a Certified Nursing Assistant. The skills and comprehesion training will prepare the student for the Hawaii State Competency Evaluation Examination, which will be administered by the American Red Cross, right here at the Wahiawa site.

Patient Care Technician Class

The CTI Patient Care Technician (PCT) training program was designed out of the healthcare community's need for trained personnel, specifically in the area of patient care. PCTs are level II technicians employed in hospitals. PCTs are utilized in areas such as the medical/surgical and emergency room departments. This PCT program will provide advanced training to Certified Nursing Assistants and Emergency Medical Technicians that will equip individuals to apply for positions of added responsibility.

Phlebotomy, EKG & IV Therapy Course

Phlebotomy Course Description
• Collecting, transporting, handling and processing blood specimens for analysis.
• Recognizing the importance of specimen collection in the overall patient care system.
• Identifying and selecting equipment, supplies and additives used in blood collection.
• OSHA guidelines and universal precautions
• Vacutainer, butterfly and lancets
• Syringe needle and equipment
• Venipuncture techniques and methods

EKG Course Description
• To learn the basic 12-lead ECG procedure and interpretation of normal sinus rhythm strips

IV Therapy Course Description
• Fundamentals of intravenous therapy will include lectures, participative discussion, visual aids, written material and review, and clinical laboratory experience using practice, IV equipment and live subjects.
• To begin, maintain and discontinue IV Therapy in accordance with the guidelines of the Health Establishment
